Federer reaches 15th final in Basel after victory over Tsitsipas

The Swiss did not lose a set yet in Basel as he defeated both Gojowczyk and Albot in straight sets and his quarterfinal opponent Wawrinka withdrew from the tournament.

Although Tsitsipas was able to deafeat Federer this year at the Australian Open, he was not good enough for the Fedex in his home town. Federer won the match to setup a meeting with Alex De Minaur in the final.

De Minaur defeated Opelka in the earlier match 7-6, 6-7 and 7-6. Federer was successful in 9 out of the 14 previous finals. De Minaur did not win a match against a player from a TOP 5 this year, but won all 3 final matches he played.
