Roger Federer will step onto the tennis courts this week for a brief hitting session with his wife Mirka according to coach Severin Luthi.
The last time Roger Federer was doing something tennis related was many months ago when he took part in the Laver Cup in Boston. Since then, Federer has mostly been under the radar while briefly giving updates on his return. The most recent one came from his coach Severin Luthi who spoke to the Tages Anzeige explaining that Federer will return to the courts this week:
"Roger Federer is set to be back on a tennis court this week for a hitting session with his wife Mirka."
Luthi also explained that progress is being made however his return to Wimbledon is highly unlikely:
"At the moment I cannot imagine it. He is doing rehab and is making progress."
It's very good news for all Federer and tennis fans as the Swiss face will certainly be back this year which is exciting stuff.
