Novak Djokovic is doing everything he can to find himself in New York and his fans are doing the same which prompted the Serbian to write them a letter.
Due to Djokovic's refusal to take the vaccine, the Serbian is questionable to play in New York. The US has strict rules for entering the country if you are an unvaccinated foreign national and they don't seem too keen on changing them. That makes it impossible for Djokovic to play unless he gets some sort of exemption with many fans still hoping he does.
His fans have also been very active starting petitions, signing petitions, and writing to the president himself among other things. To thank them for their support, Djokovic penned a letter posted on his official Instagram:
"I
just wanted to take a moment and say to all of you how grateful I am to
see so many messages of support and love from all around the world
these days. I wasn’t expecting it, and that’s why it feels so mindblowing. Just wanted to say THANK YOU. It
feels special that people connect with my tennis career in such a
loving and supportive way and wish for me to continue to compete. I
am preparing as if I will be allowed to compete, while I await to hear
if there is any room for me to travel to US. Fingers crossed!"
