The coach of
Felix Auger-Aliassime shared his predictions for the upcoming grand slams picking his player to win
Wimbledon and Nadal for Roland Garros.
Frederic Fontang spoke to Ubitennis about Felix Auger-Aliassime and during the talk, he also touched upon the grand slams this year. He picked Djokovic to win the Australian Open and that came true. His pick for Roland Garros for obviously Rafael Nadal whom he would never doubt when it comes to clay tennis:
"I think Rafa, although many say he could retire, won 2
Grand Slams last year and finished the season as No. 2 of the world. In
my opinion, Rafa remains the favorite for Roland Garros despite
everything."
The US Open pick was Djokovic or Medvedev because he can see either of them win it. Considering the recent form of both, it's likely that Djokovic would win against Medvedev but he's never had much luck at the event in the past. For Wimbledon he chose Felix Auger-Aliassime whom he coaches:
"In my opinion, the discussion on Wimbledon is more open. Felix has already made the quarterfinals there, has a great serve and has all the weapons to do well. And therefore my prediction is Felix winner at Church Road."
