Bianca Andreescu rolls past Kostyuk into Hua Hin semi-final

Top seed Bianca Andreescu is proving her seeding this week by racking up wins in Thailand and she's in the semi-final now after a win over Kostyuk 6-0 7-6(3).

Andreescu has been playing pretty close to her best tennis this week and Kostyuk felt that on her own skin today. They are players who play incredibly similar tennis and look like each other when they play. Only one player had their best today and that was Andreescu who smashed Kostyuk easily.

The first set ended in a bagel as Andreescu was on fire hitting the ball as well as ever with Kostyuk unable to do the same. The Ukranian never backs off from her style of play but today it simply didn't work and rather quickly she found herself down one set. The second set followed a similar trajectory but this time around Kostyuk showed some fight.

It only happened when she was already down 5-1 but it still made things interesting as earlier in the way Andreescu nearly threw away a 5-1 lead. From 1-5 down Kostyuk battled to a 3-5 having to save match points in that game. She did and forced the match go on even longer by breaking Andreescu one more and taking a 6-5 lead.

A solid service game sent use into the tierbeak and Andreescu finally got it done there 7-3.
