Jannik Sinner mis-hits a volley winner against Korda He laughs it off 😂 Everything that comes off his racquet is gold right now
Jannik Sinner thrashed Sebastian Korda 6-1, 6-2 to reach the third round of the Monte-Carlo Masters where he will take on Jan-Lennard Struff later today. But despite a nearly flawless display from the Italian, he said he isn't close to being where he wants to be yet.
Still struggling but growing on the surface is his analysis after previously saying he has minimal expectations for the clay court swing in a similar vein to Novak Djokovic. Sinner spoke after his win over Korda and in an ominous sign for the rest of the field, he said he isn't close to where he needs to be.
"I think it's, I won't say easier, but for sure the physicality, I have grown, and especially on this surface can help a lot. If you feel more confident, then stronger physically."
"I wouldn't say that it was easier, but I got a little bit faster to the point where I would like to be. For sure I'm not where I want to be, but for sure we are trying to build on, in the next days and in the next weeks, trying to feel more comfortable."
