Frances Tiafoe finally plays a match in Houston, wins in two against Johnson

Frances Tiafoe was in a bit of a rush today in Houston playing very aggressive tennis and getting the win in 75 minutes over Steve Johnson 6-2 6-4.

The American was supposed to play this match about 3 days ago but nonstop rain made a mess out of the schedule forcing him and others to probably play two matches both today and tomorrow. The first one happened just recently with Tiafoe beating Johnson in two sets. He made an effort to play very quickly and try to shorten the points as much as possible knowing what was coming later and Johnson helped him greatly.

Neither was particularly interested in long rallies and it worked for Tiafoe early taking the opening set 6-2. The second one featured more games but was even quicker with the final result being 6-4. The American will now face Jason Kubler in the next round, probably sometime later today.
