Former women’s world number one
Caroline Wozniacki and
Canada’s
Eugenie Bouchard has lauded the ‘positive’ attitude of America’s tennis
star
Frances Tiafoe.
Both were recently quoted in a report where they stated how
the 26-year-old is always in a good mood and that he ‘lights up the room’.
"Frances Tiafoe, he's always in a great mood,” said Wozniacki.
“There is very little that can bum him out, and he always shows up and lights
up the room.”
"I agree,” said the 29-year-old Bouchard. “He's always
smiling. I don't know how he's so positive all the time."
The comments will make Tiafoe better, especially after
a disappointing out in the recently concluded Australian Open. He was knocked
out of the competition after losing in the second round to the Czech Republic’s
Tomas Machac with a score of 6-4, 6-4, 7-6.
Tiafoe had a mixed time on the court in 2023 where despite
playing in the main round of all the Grand Slams, he ended up qualifying for the
quarterfinal or beyond on just one occasion.
His best performance last year came while playing on the
home soil in the US Open where he was eventually knocked out after losing in
the quarterfinal to fellow countryman Ben Shelton with a score of 6-3, 3-6,
7-6, 6-2.
