Frances Tiafoe takes down an in-form Sinner for the Erste Bank Open final after sensational comeback

Frances Tiafoe had a miraculous comeback against Jannik Sinner who served for the match but failed to close it out only to lose 3-6 7-5 6-2.

Jannik Sinner is doing everything that he can in order to secure a spot in the ATP Finals in Turin but today he botched a match he should have won. Sinner was cruising early winning the opening set with 6-3 and leading in the 2nd set with 5-3 when he served for the match. His performance today against Tiafoe should give him confidence ahead of next week's crucial Paris Masters.

Tiafoe did not play good tennis at all but when he avoided losing the match at 5-3 it's like a flip switched inside his head. He started playing much much better especially in the 3rd set where he was simply too good for SInner. His energy was amazing throughout the match never seemingly dropping off physically.

At 5-3 Sinner was serving for the match and he faced the first issues he had all day. He got broken and that was the start of a 4-game run from Tiafoe to win the 2nd set with 7-5. A tremendous turnaround by Tiafoe who relaxed and hit some amazing forehands and volleys. The final set featured an even better play by Tiafoe who played as a man possessed.

He took a double break lead with some sensational play overall, both from the baseline and at the net. He served great never allowing much to his opponent closing out the 3rd with 6-2.
