Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina break up right after Australian Open

Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina were one of the most popular couples in the tennis world, now the two have decided to take a break in their relationship what they announced on the social media.

While Gael Monfils lost already in the first round of 2021 Australian open to Emil Ruusuvuori and broke in tears later at the press conference, Elina Svitolina reached the 4th round where she lost to Jessica Pegula.

The couple started dating in 2019 and was probably the most popular couple in tennis world. They also had a shared instagram account, where they added a lot of interesting videos and pictures from their lives. Now, the relationship came to and end, as they released a joint statement saying:

"We decided to take a break in our relationship. The decision was incredibly difficult, because we still have love for each other, but... It's just two best friends realising it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous fulfilled lives as possible. We won't be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our privacy. Sending lots of love to everyone."
