Andy Murray will be defending the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games having won the event both in 2012 and 2016. While Murray is clearly not the favourite to repeat the success again he will try his best to represent Great Britain and Northern Ireland as best he can.
Speaking about the Olympics, Murray said:
“My goal is to try and win a medal – ideally a gold one. It will be great to go to Tokyo and play there. We’re lucky that the Olympics are going ahead this year and personally I’ve always enjoyed the experience of the games. I want to win for my country and will give my best effort to do that.”
While Murray will play at the Olympics it's not clear what he will do after that as his plans after the games remain a mystery. Asked about that he said:
“I wish I could tell you more. In previous years it was definitely easier. At the moment things are not as simple as in the past. With age, you have to be more selective. You can’t play it all, so I will know in a few weeks.”
