Grigor Dimitrov is finally playing a good event with the Bulgarian beating the Russian in straight sets 6-3 6-4 in Vienna.
This was not a good match from Rublev and it's typical for him to have them from time to time. He caught a very strong Dimitrov playing his best and when he does he's a player that could comfortably be ranked inside the top 5, as he once was.
Dimitrov was just unplayable today, especially due to his serve which worked to perfection and allowed him to lose only two points behind it in the entire match. He was 25/27 after hitting his fist serve and that is very hard to counter.
He added 8 aces and 25 winners with only 5 unforced errors, in the entire match. An absurd statline that would have probably beaten any player active today. Rublev was pretty solid overall but not aggressive enough and not precise enough. He was also very nervous in the entire match as he was unable to counter Dimitrov who was just spectacular.
