The Hangzhou Open is due to take place between 21-29 September and is the latest stop on the tour for the ATP ahead of the Asian Hard Court swing which begins this week with Hangzhou and Chengdu.
There are multiple events on the ATP 250 circuit this week and this one is led by Russian trio Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov.
Alexander Bublik is defending champion in a tournament which is a fairly recent addition to the schedule in its inception. Formed two years ago and taking place at the Olympic Sports Expo Center which is shaped like a flower, Marin Cilic was the inaugural winner against Zhang Zhizhen.
This before Bublik won it last year seeing off Valentin Royer 7-6, 7-6. Royer does return this year albeit Bublik doesn't meaning a new winner will be crowned.
