"He looked like he was 19 for the first time in a while" - John McEnroe on Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz struggled quite a bit against Alexander Zverev at Roland Garros losing the match in the end in four sets.

It was a solid match from Alcaraz but as John McEnroe pointed out after the match, ALcaraz struggled to solve the problems that Zverev was giving him. McEnroe said:

“It was the first time in a while he looked his age, the first time for a while he looked like he was 19. He didn’t seem exactly to know what to do with Zverev."

It's exactly what happened as Zverev was ready for anything Alcarza tried as they played fairly recently in Madrid where the German had no answers for Alcaraz. McEnroe further said:

"He battled, he showed a lot of heart, his game was picking up but that was a big deficit that he tried to overcome”.
