Andy Murray found some form late in the season this year with several strong victories including one over Hubert Hurkacz who played at the ATP Finals in Turin. Murray has been adamant that he will not give up believing himself capable of reaching the top 10 again and Mats Wilander would not count him out. Speaking on Murray, the Swede said:
"I actually think it's an achievable goal [returning to the top 10]. I really do. I actually think that throughout some of the last year or two, some of the criticism, [which] is always around when somebody who's been a superstar of the game is out there struggling, pushed him."
Wilander is not questioning the dedication and will of Murray admitting:
"He's out to prove a point, and I think he's out to prove a point to all of us. I think he's out to prove a point to himself that it's not about number one in the world or winning Grand Slams. It's really about the day-to-day struggle and the day-to-day reward of when you're practicing to try to become better than yourself, better than yourself yesterday."
His season started today with a strong win over Dan Evans and tomorrow he will face Rafael Nadal in a throwback match.
