Katie Boulter has praised Andy Murray for being the "biggest fighter" after the Scot revealed he may not play much in the second half of the year.
Murray stated while in Dubai that he was not "likely going to play past this summer" after admitting he is tired of having to answer questions about his future.
Boulter talked about how she admired the former World No. 1's fighting spirit and called him an inspiration for British tennis.
"Yeah, I mean Andy Murray is Andy Murray isn't he. He’s the biggest fighter, the biggest lover of tennis, you know his attributes.." she said. "I could go on for a very long time.
"He’s inspired a lot of players, especially in our country, definitely myself. I just love seeing him out there."
On Murray's potential retirement in 2024, Boulter believes the 36-year-old has earned the right to retire on his own terms, adding: "Even the fact that he’s out there now and he’s still going.. I think as long as he’s enjoying himself and getting what he wants out of the sport, that’s the most important thing,
"When he retires, I think that’s on his terms and what he really wants to do, but I can speak for a lot of people when they say they’ve loved watching him play.. I certainly have."
Boulter is competing at the San Diego Open, where she has progressed to the quarter finals after beating Lesia Tsurenko and Beatriz Haddad Maia in California.
