Holger Rune keeps winning, defeats de Minaur for second time in days in Basel

Holger Rune won the 2022 Stockholm Open and he continued winning by beating Alex de Minaur in Basel 6-2 7-5.

It was a far more impressive win by Rune than last week in Stockholm because that time, de Minaur pushed him to three sets. This time around the Danish player came out prepared taking the ball early and attacking de Minaur who was unable to hold off.

6-2 was the score after the first set as Rune blasted 13 winners out of which 5 were aces. The second set was a bit closer because de MInaur was able to find some rhythm although he was in trouble in the opening game.

He saved break points to keep himself in the match and then forced a break point on Rune's serve but could not convert it. Rune finished off the match 7-5 in the second set after raising his level a bit more to close it out.

A great performance by Rune who had 26 winners and only 13 unforced errors compared to de Minaur who only had 9 winners in the entire match.
