Holger Rune is unstoppable as the Danish player added another win, beating Andrey Rublev 6-4 7-5 for the Paris Masters quarter-final.
Another strong performance from indoor superstar Holger Rune. The Danish player has never looked better on a tennis court and he's only lost twice since the start of the indoor season. One of those was in the Sofia Open final to Huesler while the other came against Felix Auger-Aliassime last week in Basel.
He's in the Paris Master's quarter-final after he took down Andrey Rublev in straight sets. The first set was another superb performance from the Danish player who outhit Rublev rather comfortably from the baseline. Doing that is very hard but Rune did it thanks to 15 winners and only 4 unforced errors.
Rublev was pretty solid himself but the Danish player is able to hit incredible winners in the past month rivalling some of the best hitters in recent years. The second set was another good one as both players cruised early but Rublev applied heavy pressure on Rune.
The Russian had two break points late in the set but Rune saved both and then broke an annoyed Rublev in the next game. He then finished it off 7-5. 30 winners and only 8 unforced errors in two sets of play is fantastic from Rune.
