Great Britain Team Captain Anne Keothavong believes
Emma Raducanu will return as a much stronger player next year.
Raducanu did not enjoy her first full season as a professional player as her season was plagued with many injuries and tennis that is far from her best. Her most recent injury came at the Ostrava Open as she injured her wrist in the match against Kasatkina.
She pulled out of all events for the rest of the year holding out hope for the
Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Glasgow but pulled out of that recently as well. Team Captain Anne Keothavong saw Raducanu and noted that she looks far stronger now than before:
“She’s looking pretty fit and strong and I think the work she’s put
in over the last few weeks, you can see it. It’s good that she’s investing the time into it. I think she
recognises it’s an area she needed to work on and improve and she’s
doing it.
She continued:
“Wrist injuries are never easy, but I think this one is under
control. She’s got good people around her. I think she will be a
stronger player come next year.”
