Hubert Hurkacz and
Cameron Norrie advanced to the next round of the
Rotterdam Open after wins over Tsonga and Humbert.
In order to reach the next round of the tennis event in Rotterdam, Hurkacz and Norrie had to battle it out against French players Tsonga and Humbert. Hurkacz played against Tsonga and the veteran put forward a pretty strong match where he challenged Hurakcz considerably. Both sets were very close and Tsonga played solid tennis overall.
Hurkacz was able to win the opening set after getting a late break which was enough to secure the first set with 6-4. Tsonga had a break point himself but failed to convert it. In the 2nd set, we did not see a single break point and it was settled in the tiebreak. Once again it was Hurkacz who was slightly better with 9-7.
Joining Hurkacz in the next round is Cameron Norrie who faced
Ugo Humbert. The Frenchman is a tricky player indoor because of his precise first serve but Norrie was able to work his way around that. Humbert did not play a brilliant match by any means especially early as Norrie took an early lead. He then cruised to a 6-2 finish in the opening set.
The 2nd set opened well for Humbert who was much better in the 2nd set. He took an early break and was up 4-1 with Norrie looking very flat. Out of nowhere, Humbert offered him a lifeline after losing his serve in a game where he was up 40-15. Norrie kept on pushing and eventually finished it off with 6-4 by winning five games in a row.
