"I could not beat him so I don't deserve it" - Fritz on fans calling for him to be reinstated at Wimbledon

Taylor Fritz shut down fan talk about him deserving a spot in the semifinal against Kyrgios saying that he had a chance to earn it on the court.

Nick Kyrgios will play in the Wimbledon final after Nadal withdrew from their semifinal clash that was due to happen today. Some fans on social media have called for Fritz to be reinstated into the event but obviously, that would never happen as it's again the rules. Even Fritz himself shut down some of those talks explaining that he had the chance to earn it on the court.

"Nah not looking for handouts, if I couldn’t beat him [Nadal] then I don’t deserve to be in the semis…simple as that."

Fritz did thank the fans for their support at SW19 where he enjoyed his best run yet. The fan debate did open some interesting topics that some people might find worthy of discussing.
