Former Top 10 player from Switzerland, Marc Rosset is unsure about Federer and his return to tennis explained his views during an interview with RTS.
Many people are wondering how Roger Federer will look once he returns to tennis. Last year's comeback look okay at the French Open but it was quickly apparent that Federer was not ready to play fully as his Wimbledon showing indicated. The Swiss ace returned despite not being fully comfortable with his knee and he admitted that this time around that won't happen.
His return should happen somewhere in the 2nd half of the 2021 season but his compatriot Rosset is unsure of how it will go. He said:
“I can't comment on Roger Federer, I don't know. As he said in his congratulatory message to Rafa, a great champion should not be underestimated, they are capable of coming back, Federer achieved that feat well in 2017 in Australia."
Federer himself has been largely out of the spotlight as he recover from yet another surgery and he did not speak often about his comeback. The last time he spoke was recently admitting that he doesn't have a timetable yet and will know more in April.
