The mother of
Nick Kyrgios won't be watching the
Wimbledon final and she revealed it in a recent tearful interview where she spoke about her illness.
Nick Kyrgios is currently playing his first grand slam final at Wimbledon taking on Novak Djokovic. This run to Wimbledon means a lot to Kyrgios and his family due to the difficult circumstances it faced in the past couple of months. Kyrgios spoke often about his mother who was gravely ill and in a recent interview, she herself spoke about it .
She said:
"You won't live after Christmas. But I was so determined because my kids needed me still. I
love it, he's very kind and loving, he tells me he loves me every day.
He cuddles, he doesn't care if i cuddle him in front of people or give
him a kiss. That's the kid I love."
She won't be watching the final because it could be a detriment to her health but she's certain that her son can defeat Djokovic. Many believe he's capable of doing it but he needs to play his best tennis to do so. His mother agrees:
"If he plays his game, which is different to Novak, move him around, his serve has to be on. At the end I'll be super proud of what he's achieved. I haven't watched him play for a while, actually. I can't expose myself to that anxiety. I go into a really strange panic ... It actually got to a stage where I sought help. I was seeing a psychologist for six months. I was not in a good place. My anxiety level watching Nick was so high."
