.@FTiafoe, I’m so proud of you! You were an amazing force on the court. I have a feeling we’ll all be watching you dominate in the years to come.
Frances Tiafoe captured the hearts of a nation with his stellar play at the US Open and he certainly left an impression on former First Lady Michelle Obama.
The American played his best grand slam event ever reaching a semi-final and losing out to Carlos Alcaraz in five sets. The Spaniard went on to win the event which was the goal of Tiafoe as well but he promised the crowd he'll be back.
Michelle Obama certainly believes that as she took to social media to offer some words of encouragement to the American:
"I’m so proud of you! You were an amazing force on the court. I have a feeling we’ll all be watching you dominate in the years to come."
Tiafoe himself was stunned to see Obama supporting him against Alcaraz explaining a few times after the match that it was crazy.
