Legendary player Bjorn Borg doesn't think Rafael Nadal will play Roland Garros unless he's 100 % fit but he hopes that the Spaniard will be there in two weeks.
Rafael Nadal announced his withdrawal from the Rome Masters next week and the move created even more doubt whether he would be fully fit for Roland Garros. According to Borg, who spoke to Eurosport briefly at the Madrid Open, Nadal is unlikely to play at the event if he's not fully ready for competition:
"Rafa is a good friend of mine. I know he’s struggling a little bit with his body, I’ve known that for a long time. Unfortunately, he’s not going to play Rome, but we want to see him at the French Open," Borg said. "If he’s not going to be fit, he’s not going to play."
He added his hope that Nadal will be ready for the event:
"But Rafa is Rafa, he’s one of the greatest ever to play the game. I hope he is going to play the French Open."
Only time will tell whether Nadal will be there but his uncle sounded very convinced that Nadal will be in Paris.
