It is no secret that Nick Kyrgios has struggled with motivation throughout his career, but the Australian recently revealed that he now wants to play for everyone and serve as an inspiration to those who aren't happy with themselves.
"I lost a lot of motivation throughout my career a lot," Kyrgios said in an interview for the Australian Open. "And then, you know, I don't really play for myself anymore. You know, I obviously have my NK Foundation, but I just play for everyone, you know, all the kids and everyone, who you know, kind of lacks confidence, who is very insecure."
The 26-year old struggled with his weight as a child, and he stated he would now like to serve as an inspiration to those who are lacking confidence and feel insecure.
"You know, I can relate to that as a young kid growing up. you know, I was a bit overweight" reflected Kyrgios. "You know, I definitely feel when I'm playing, I'm playing for a lot of people, that I'm very relatable. As I said, I just play and I try to give people hope and I try and inspire and to just go out there and be comfortable in your own skin."
