"I know how to get there" says Karen Khachanov as he seeks top 10 return

Karen Khachanov was part of the top 10 in 2019 with the Russian falling behind after that but he is also determined to return there once more.

It was the year 2019 and Karen Khachanov was ranked inside the top 10. The Russian player possesses a very versatile game that can be dangerous on different surfaces and at age 25 he still has time. The Russian is determined to return back to the top 10 and his recent flash at the Tokyo Olympics proved that Russian still has top tennis in him.

Back home in Moscow before the Kremlin Cup he said:

“The rankings turned out to be a big pun, it was frozen for a year and a half, only now normal counting has begun. I am not fixated on this,” Khachanov told reporters in Moscow on Wednesday. My main goal is to get back to the Top 10. I know how to get there. And the intermediate goals are to be healthy and motivated.”

Khachanov has surrounded himself with a great team and the man working most closely with him is his coach Jose Clavet who is guiding the Russian towards where he thinks he belongs. On his relationship with Clavet Khachanov said:

Feliciano Lopez, Alex Corretja, Tommy Robredo and Carlos Moya.

“He travels with me everywhere, for which I am grateful to him. I trust him as a specialist, as a coach, and as a friend."

Clavet has worked with Feliciano Lopez, Alex Corretja, Tommy Robredo and Carlos Moya in the past.
