Stefanos Tsitispas has been a vocal champion of all things Greek and he would like to see the new bond be Greek.
For all of those film fans that don't follow the Bond cinematic universe, the reign of British actor Daniel Craig has come to an end. That obviously opens the role for somebody else and the question became a very polarizing one in pop culture. Many people chimed in and daily discussions have been ongoing on Twitter for a while now.
Stefanos Tsitsipas, ever the one to notice things online, chimed in with his own pick and while his suggestion does not include a specific person, it does include a nation of almost 10 million people. Tsitsipas, as the champion of all things Greek, would like to see the next Bond be Greek. He shared the sentiment on his Twitter writing:
"Guys, jokes aside, the next James Bond should be Greek."
Obviously that garnered a lot of reaction from the tennis community with the best response by far coming from the WTA Twitter page. They posted a GIF of Maria Sakkari which suggests that they would like to see her as the new Bond. Whether it happens or not remains to be seen but Sakkari as one of the best female athletes on the Tour would certainly be up for the challenge.
