Andy Murray never played at the Laver Cup but the Brit likes the event and he would strongly consider playing in 2022 at the O2 Arena in London if asked.
The 2021 Laver Cup proved a huge success filling out the TD Garden in Boston with tennis fans who were determined to watch Team World take on Team Europe. The event proved highly popular amongst tennis fans and players alike and Andy Murray is no different. Asked at the San Diego Open what he thought about the event he said:
“I really like the event. I have seen it and I enjoyed it this weekend. It’s a good show for our sport."
It indeed is a good show for tennis as it proved with consecutive successful editions. Murray was also asked whether he would consider playing as he never played in the Laver Cup and he said:
“If my ranking allows me to be selected, I will strongly consider participating and representing Europe.”
Murray is currently ranked 109th which would not be enough for a selection at the Laver Cup however the Brit has plenty of time to improve on his ranking over the next several months and with his current form it's highly likely he enters the top 50 again.
