Thank you to @janniksin & @carlosalcaraz for showing us the future of tennis now. Incredible in every possible way @usopen @espn
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner played a superb match that went to 5 sets and lasted well over 5 hours with the Spaniard emerging as victorious.
It was one of the best matches of the season, quite possibly the best which is why many tennis players followed it along. Coco Gauff was very vocal about it on Twitter writing:
“This match is insane. I leave at 6am for the airport but I refuse to sleep and miss this.”
She further posted on Instagram:
“I’m gonna freakin’ cry for whoever loses this match. They both want it so bad.”
Feliciano Lopez is another one:
“Can’t get any better…I just found myself screaming in my room, is it normal?”
Several others posted as well with many noting that tennis is in good hands with those two being as young as they are and as good as they are.
