"I think it gives me confidence, as well, that that could also be me": Pegula praises depth in WTA tennis with Swiatek, Sabalenka and Rybakina emerging as rivalry

Jessica Pegula has praised the status of the WTA with so many great players right now finding inspiration in their success in hopes of being there herself.

Pegula was one of the best players in the world last year but she's been somewhat leapfrogged by others this year, most notably Sabalenka and Rybakina. They have been the top players this year along with Swiatek and Pegula hope to take that next step and get to their level. She finds the parity in tennis right now quite inspiring.

Speaking about the parity, Sabalenka said:

"Yeah, it's a little bit different, but at the same time you see Sabalenka and Rybakina doing the same thing kind of back and forth. I think there's always going to be someone. That just shows the depth in the women's game, that anyone can step up and kind of take over. I think that's really cool that we have all these kind of big players, star power in the game."

She finds it inspirational to watch what the likes of Sabalenka and Rybakina have done recently, particularly against Swiatek. She too bested the Polish player once this year and all of that gives her confidence that she can be in their place.

"I think it gives me confidence, as well, that that could also be me. If I could really go deep here, that would be awesome, yeah."
