Casper Ruud is in a fierce race for the ATP Finals with Hubert Hurkacz and Jannik Sinner with the Norwegian favored to get it out of the three.
Three players are fighting for two spots at the ATP finals and Casper Ruud is the one who has the highest chance of getting it. He wasn't handed a great draw in Paris having to face Alexander Bublik in the 2nd round. The Norwegian entered the match a bit nervous but rallied to win after that. He admitted to feeling nervous after the match saying:
"I was a little nervous in the beginning today but I haven't felt unbelievable pressure. I'm just happy to be in this situation. Things are looking good but a lot can happen in the next two weeks."
Ruud is aware of the danger that is lurking behind him explaining :
"So many players behind me are playing well. Sinner has been playing great in recent weeks, Hurkacz is a great indoor player. It's great to be part of the tight race and in two weeks we will know."
The Norwegian will be happy to know that Sinner got knocked out by Alcaraz today which significantly boosts his chances for the Finals. Speaking on the match against Bublik he said:
“I got broken in the first game, which put me under pressure right away because he's a strong server who can hit some unbelievable returns as well. He hits big and got a couple of winners at the beginning and I wasn't completely ready. But I fought back and played very solid from 3-4 down in the first set."
