"I will be back next year" - Nadal happy to win 5th title in Abu Dhabi

It was a very good tournament for both Nadal and Tsitsipas. Nadal first defeated Khachanov and then played a thrilling 3 hour match against Tsitsipas in the final to lift the trophy. On the other hand, Tsitsipas defeated Rublev, he outplayed Djokovic again and was close to winning against Nadal. After winning the trophy, Nadal said:

“It’s a real pleasure to come here and to win a fifth title means a lot to me. I had a great match yesterday and a great match today. Hopefully I can stay healthy and hopefully I will be back next year. The crowds have been amazing and it is a real pleasure to play in front of you all.”

Also Tsitsipas had a lot to say. He enjoyed playing in Abu Dhabi and supporters in United Arab Emirates will be hoping to see him again. “I gave it my all out there and I liked your support. I’ve really enjoyed it in Abu Dhabi, the people have been very nice. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to witness that. I think I’ve made 8,000 new friends today!”
