Andy Murray had a really inspired run at the
Australian Open playing the best tennis he played in a long time and he plans to continue just like that.
Murray reached the 3rd round of the Australian Open but getting there took him almost ten hours. For a player who struggled with injuries in his career and has a lot of miles on him, it wasn't ideal. Murray felt the effects of that against Bautista Agut in the 3rd round but still played well taking the Spaniard to four nets and narrowly missing out on a decider.
He hopes to continue playing like this until the end:
"I think obviously you never know exactly when the end is going to be. I would like to go out playing tennis like this, where I'm competing with the best players in the world in the biggest events and doing myself justice."
He also recalled some bad moments last year:
"There were maybe times last year or so where I didn't really feel like I was playing well, and I didn't enjoy the way that I was playing. Yeah, those sacrifices and that effort that I put in allowed me to get through those matches and play at a high level that I think was entertaining for the people watching."
And added:
"I felt good about the way that I was playing. It's more enjoyable for me when I'm playing like that, when I'm coming into a major event and really believing that I can do some damage."
