"If I play well, it's not going to be easy for him" - Medvedev speaks on facing Kyrgios

Daniil Medvedev kicked off his Australian Open campaign with an easy first round victory, but he now faces local favorite Nick Kyrgios for a spot in the third round.

After cruising past Henri Laaksonen in his opening round match, the World No.2 is set to face the unpredictable Kyrgios, who holds a 2-0 record against the Russian.

"I will do my preparation," said Medvedev on facing the Aussie. "If I play well, it's not going to be easy for him and we will probably have a good match."

Not only will the reigning US Open champion have to deal with Kyrgios's unique style of play and potential outbursts, but the Russian will have to prepare for the crowd, who will undoubtedly be cheering on their local hero.

“If I have to play him, it's definitely not going to be easy against the crowd," admitted Medvedev. "He's going to try to pump himself up, he likes to play big names."
