America’s
Taylor Fritz is looking forward to improving
further in the 2025 season despite having a fabulous time this year. The
27-year-old is already regarded as one of the best players currently playing in
men’s tennis along with the likes of Italy’s Jannik Sinner and Spain’s Carlos
Alcaraz.
Fritz, who has had an impressive 2024 season, has been
recently quoted in a report by UBITennis where he talked about the upcoming
season. The California-born was of the opinion that he is ‘excited’ about the
2025 season, knowing fully well that there are a lot of areas where he can improve
despite proving a lot of doubters wrong with his performances in 2024.
“I’m excited about a lot of the things I think I can still
improve on, that I’m working on,” he said. “I feel like almost every part of my
game has gotten better the last couple of years. Definitely feeling more
confident with my forehand, my serve, my return. I’ve been moving better,
playing better defense. I’ve been able to come to net and finish some points,
which obviously still working on. There’s been a lot of things. A lot of days,
a lot of matches, it’s going to happen. You play a couple games where the
serve, you miss some close ones, maybe you make less first serves in a game.
There’s games I just try to rely on my ability to play from the baseline, play
good points to get me out of those games. In games where it doesn’t work, all I
can really say is I needed to serve better because from the ground. I’m excited
because I still think there’s a lot of room for me to improve.”
Fritz produced some incredible performances in 2024. He played
in his maiden and till now the only Grand Slam final in New York. While doing so,
he became the first American player to play in the final of the
US Open in the
last 18 years. He ended up losing to Sinner in the final in straight sets with
a score of 6-3, 6-4, 7-5. Fritz then also went all the way to the final of the
ATP Finals in Turin where he once again lost to Sinner in straight sets with a
score of 6-4, 6-4.
