Cameron Norrie got beaten easily at the Miami Open by Barrera and he was quite shocked by the result dmissing suggestions it was due to injury.
Norrie was on his way to losing the match far sooner before he injured his ankle in the second set and he dismissed claims that the loss was due to that. He was simply smashed by a better opponent that day on the court because it was a pretty decisive win for Barerre. It was never in doubt really and Norrie himself was quite shocked because he didn't see it coming:
“I’m in a bit of a state of shock. I had prepared well and was expecting a good run here. I’ve got to put this behind me quickly.”
On the ankle, Norrie said:
“I jammed it at 4-1 in the second but I had been feeling fine, it wasn’t a factor."
Norrie now moves to clay where he had quite a bit of success in the past. He's won trophies on the surface including this year such as Rio where he beat Alcaraz in the final.
