Denis Shapovalov is one of the players that will take part in the 2020 Virtual Madrid Open, meeting Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Benoit Paire in Group 1.
The young Canadian will have a difficult task ahead of him. He will be facing 2 Grand Slam champions and
Benoit Paire who replaced Gael Monfils in the draw. However, Shapovalov showed that he is ready for the tournament as he shared a video of himself practicing.
"Obviously with the situation right now, we can not get on the court. We have to stay at home and social distance. But we will bring you some virtual tennis. Madrid Open set up a great tournament. It's gonna be streamed live on Facebook. I'm gonna be playing guys like Rafael Nadal or Andy Murray."
"I'm actually practicing against virtual Rafa right now to get ready for the match. Hopefully, he grinds the same way in virtual tennis. It's gonna be tough to beat him on the clay, but I got my Canadian controller for good luck," Shapovalov said.
