Taylor Fritz feels like
Alexander Zverev will be back to his best tennis sooner rather than later after coming back from a tricky injury that saw him miss the majority of 2022.
Fritz played Zverev at the United Cup and easily defeated him in two sets as the German continues to find a really good rhythm. It's going to get better in time and everybody including Fritz knows that. He spoke in a positive light about Zverev after their United Cup match:
"I felt pretty good. I think it was tough to judge my level because I do feel like he's coming back from injury, he's a bit rusty. He was giving me a good amount of free points. I'm really happy with it. I'm sure it won't take him too long for him to kind of fully get his form back."
Fritz is quite content with the way this year started as he was able to pick up some pretty good wins overall. He admitted as much after the win over Zverev:
"It's great to start the year off with some wins, for sure. I think just the confidence aspect of tennis is super important. Especially going to Australian Open, coming off of off-season, it's good to start with some wins."
