Toni Nadal doesn't know what
Rafael Nadal will do with his career but he recently speculated where his nephew could hang up the racquet in the future.
Nadal has been in the sport for two decades and he's been on top for pretty much all of it. It's clear that his time in tennis is slowly coming to an end with injuries more and more common and his actual time on the court less with each year. There are various ways he could bid farewell to the sport and Toni speculated about it:
"In Madrid or at Roland Garros. The time will come and he
will decide. When you lift trophies you convince yourself that you still
have something to give. It's hard to retire winning. I think Sampras
did."
He was asked whether he knows more than he lets on and Nadal said he doesn't. He didn't speak to his nephew on the topic:
"I haven't talked about Rafa about that. I don't know how much he has left. If he recovers well completely, let him keep playing and we'll see."
Nadal has been out of action since the Australian Open where he injured his hip. It's unclear where he'll make his return but some have speculated it could as early as in the Monte-Carlo Masters. There are no official updates or information about that. We'll have to wait and see.
