Novak Djokovic appears to be in some strife in his Olympic Games tie as his gold medal hopes hang by a thread against Stefanos Tsitsipas. Mainly due to injury in this case with Djokovic looking like he has an issue with his knee that he recently had surgery on.
Djokovic was 3-0 down in the second set and was limping on his knee before calling for the physio. He took a wrong step on the line and looked to be in real pain.
The physio was checking his knee at 4-0 down and he returned to the court down 4-1 in the second set and took some medication. But despite being hampered, Djokovic continues to fight.
He sealed the opening set 6-3 and looked prior to his injury issue to be on course towards a semi-final with Lorenzo Musetti. But given the likely tentative nature of his current plight, it may flip in favour of Tsitsipas who has not defeated Djokovic this century.
Djokovic who still sports his grey knee sleeve saved three set points from there on in the set down 0-40 on the Tsitsipas serve at 3-5. He came back on serve to force the Greek to break or it would head towards a tie-break.
But given it will be his big chance to win a gold medal for the final time in his career, Djokovic will be lamenting his luck. Considering also how little he has been troubled this tournament thus far. The other semi-final was confirmed earlier as Carlos Alcaraz will face Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Djokovic took a wrong step on the line and seemingly has reaggravated the knee, hopefully he's okay but looks to be in pain. I was afraid of that more on the grass with how often slips can happen there, but happens here on the clay.
