Tunisian Ons Jabeur was awarded the Peace Champion of the Year Award at the ceremony held in Monaco recently.
Jabeur was recognized a force in the tennis community and her native Tunisia inspiring many people to take up tennis. Her role as a role model for young girls in her native country was deemed particularly important.
The Peace Champion of the Year award goes to a player that is both a champion and promoted peace around the world which Jabeur takes seriously as well. The Monaco-based Peace and Sport platform described Jabeur as "a source of inspiration for women and youth around the world".
