After withdrawing from 2019 Hawaii Open, Kei Nishikori announced that he won't be playing at the 2020 ATP Cup.
At the inaugural ATP Cup which will be played in 3 Australian cities from 3rd - 12th of January 2020,
Japan is set to play in Group B in Perth. Now, 2014 US Open runner-up
Kei Nishikori revealed that he won't help the team of Japan.
“Today, together with my team, we have made this decision. I am still not 100 percent ready to compete at the highest level,” Nishikori said in a statement.
Former world number 4 was definitely an important part of the team. Now it all lays on shoulders of Yoshihito Nishioka, Go Soeda, Toshihide Matsui and Ben McLachlan to make a name for their country.
