Nick Kyrgios dropped the first set against Kamil Majchrzak but the Australian battled back to win the match 3-6 6-2 6-2.
Nick Kyrgios had another slow start but this time around he actually took a long time of finding his footing as Majcrhzak was able to take the first set. The court in Tokyo is very fast, something that Kyrgios enjoys but so does his opponent. After the Australian dropped his serve early, the Polish player simply serve his way to the first set.
Kyrgios struggled with his timing but it improved much more in the next two sets. Nick was much better on his serve as well rarely dropping points and he would have probably won the sets in the tiebreak had it come to that. He didn't need to as his return was much more deadly in the second set and he broke Majchrzak twice in the second set to take it 6-2.
The Polish player made it quite easy for Kyrgios as he served much worse than in the first set. He gave him more chances and Kyrgios pounced. The final set saw an improvement on serving by Majchrzak but it was still not enough. The Aussie player was feeling himself and he cruised to another comfortable 6-2 finish.
