Nick Kyrgios reiterated once more that he doesn't regret some of the on-court antics that earned him a reputation as the bad boy of tennis.
Nick Kyrgioss was branded the bad boy of tennis fairly early in his career and nad it was mostly due to his propensity for very controversial behaviour on the court. The Australian admitted this year that it was an image forced upon him by the media and he was never comfortable with it as he didn't see himself that way.
While nobody can claim that Kyrgios did it on purpose, he certainly proved to be a rather unique personality in tennis, one that is very uncommon. Players are usually described as quite robotic most of the time but Kyrgios is glad to be different:
"Making it entertaining? Not being in the box like the rest of you? Winning majority of the time? Being Top 20 in the world? Nah, I love it."
When a fan asked him during a recent Q and A session why he gets so angry on the court, he said:
"Because my whole life I've been ice cold under it, so I expect better from myself. Also because there is millions of dollars at stake. Do you know what that feels like?"
