Kyrgios responds to Tennis Australia after losing out on Newcombe Medal to Barty: "Lol! No respect at all."

Nick Kyrgios slammed Tennis Australia on Instagram reposting a picture by Sportskeeda where they compared his 2022 stats to Barty's in relation to the latter winning the Newcombe Medal.

Barty won her 5th Newcombe Medal which is the highest sporting honour a person in Australia can get and it was somewhat of a controversial decision. She deserves it for everything she did in her tennis career but her 2022 year pales in comparison to Kyrgios simply because she played only one month.

In most sports, you have a threshold you need to get to before being able to be nominated for an award and if that were the case here, Kyrgios would have won it. He had more wins, more trophies and one grand slam just like Barty. He responded to it on social media by slamming Tennis Australia for having no respect.

The wording? Colourful:

"Lol! No respect at all. I don't give a f*ck."

Perhaps next year. As Del Boy used to say: "This time next year we'll be millionaires". This time next year he'll be a Newcombe Medal winner. Will he care? Time will tell.
