Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios took to Instagram to post a loving tribute to his late grandfather, Christos, alongside two special images.
Kyrgios reflected on his special relationship with his beloved 'papou' on Monday evening, and captioned both pictures with a heartwarming message.
One of the photos showed his grandpa holding a tennis racquet, with Nick writing: 'Miss you papou. Always wanted to understand how I used this thing.'
Another image showed Kyrgios visiting his grandfather in hospital with the tennis star offering a loving smile while his grandad drank from a cup.
The Australian withdrew from the Estoril Open in April 2017, following the death of his grandfather. Christos passed away after a long battle with cancer with Nick known to share a close relationship with him. He was previously on the verge of tears while talking about him following his death, according to Yahoo News.
'After my grandpa's passing, I just lost a lot of motivation to do anything really,' Kyrgios said at a press conference in June 2017.
The former World No.13 will be competing at this week's Miami Open, where he kicks off his campaign against French veteran Adrian Mannarino.
