American musician and lyricist for rock band Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz has drawn comparisons between the style of play of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams with particular styles of music.
An avid tennis fan, Wentz was asked for his thoughts on Federer, Nadal and Williams.
He’s (Roger Federer) a guitar solo,” Wentz said in an interview with Tennis.com. “When you see him play, you’re seeing something that is so incredibly beautiful.
“With them (Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams) it’s impending doom - heavy metal, relentless, coming out like a train, just super heavy."
Federer has not played any competitive tennis since last year's Wimbledon, where he lost int he quarterfinals to Hubert Hurkacz. The 20-time Grand Slam champion subsequently underwent knee surgery in August and has been working on his recovery and anticipated return to the ATP Tour.
