Famous fashion brand Lacoste was forced to apologise for making a blunder by rushing Novak Djokovic’s title count. The 37-year-old is regarded as the greatest player in the history of men’s tennis in the Open era, having won as many as 24 Grand Slam titles in his illustrious career.

Djokovic’s title sponsor, Lacoste, was forced to apologise after making a blunder. The fashion brand listed a tracksuit to celebrate Serbia's legendary tennis star’s 25th title. The brand was quick to remove the article from the online store and was forced to apologise.

The Belgrade-born star is having a difficult season. He has not played in the final of any event. His most recent participation was in the French Open, where he was forced to withdraw before the start of the quarterfinal against Casper Ruud. Djokovic suffered the injury during his round-of-16 clash against Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo. He eventually came out on top with a score of 6-1, 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.

After announcing his withdrawal, Djokovic underwent knee surgery, which raised doubts about his participation in the upcoming Wimbledon 2024 and Summer Olympics. The third Grand Slam of the year will begin on July 01st when players from all over the world will participate and battle for the ultimate prize. On the other hand, the Olympics will be played from July 26 to August 11 in the capital city of France, Paris.

According to different media reports, Djokovic is extremely keen on playing at Wimbledon, where he has a fabulous record. He is the second-most successful player in the competition's history after lifting the title seven times, only behind former world number one Switzerland’s Roger Federer, who won the title eight times.

In the 2023 edition of the competition, Djokovic lost in the five-set thrilling final to Spain’s young tennis star Carlos Alcaraz with a score of 1–6, 7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6, 6–4.
