Alexander Bublik made another final and he lost another one with
Lorenzo Sonego winning 7-6(3) 6-2 to lift his maiden final this year.
It was a decent match for both players but Lorenzo Sonego finished off an amazing week in Metz with the deserved trophy. The Italian has had a rough season this year but true to his streaky way of playing, Sonego caught fire out of nowhere to take everybody by storm this week and win the trophy.
The Italian was pretty much unbreakable all week long serving amazingly and just slamming the ball so precisely that players were left stunned one by one. Bublik certainly had no response either as he kept up with the Italian as best as he could.
He got a really big chance midway through the opening set when he had 40-0 on Sonego's serve and failed to use it. He saved a set point at 4-5 but forced a tiebreak where the Italian proved better. From there on, Sonego was unstoppable as Bublik complicated things for himself with his usual casual style. The Italian did not mind and finished it off 6-2.
